Róisín Anne Jenkinson

Róisín Anne Jenkinson is an event curator, poet and live artist. She is currently facilitating monthly Poetry Afternoons at Waterlillies Café in Tullow, Co. Carlow and will be re-establishing Christian Women Writers group soon. She takes second-hand and recycled objects/materials to create something new, like greeting cards and picture frames, under Little Rose Creations (see home page for more details). She also writes personalised poems for others, and is currently working on a new poetry book.

She has self-produced poetry books, facilitated Creative Collective Community, exhibited in Dublin and Cork and performed in a variety of places, such as in La Biennaledi Venezia as part of Jelili Atiku’s performance Mama Say Make I Dey Go, She Dey My Back in May 2017. She has curated both literary and performance events since 2016 and written reviews for inaction.ie.

Róisín conveys and reflects on themes of belonging, acceptance, identity, worth, beauty, where one comes from and strength in vulnerability. Common motifs throughout her work include light, nature and the spiritual. Her work is meditative, reflective and transcendental as she creates from a place of rest, merging intention with intuition.

Róisín-Anne Jenkinson is a visual and live artist, poet and curator. She has poetry published in numerable anthologies and has self-published books, including her most recent book Within Nature (2018). She has exhibited work in Dublin and Cork and performed in a variety of places, including La Biennale di Venezia (May 2017). She has curated both literary and performance events since 2016 and written several reviews for inaction.ie.

Róisín’s current project began as a series of café exhibitions entitled Everything has its place. They are intended to continue discussions on our political climate regarding immigration and integration and what it means to belong. Each exhibition also has its own specific focus and invites you to rest and reflect, and support independent cafés. She is currently working on the next stage of this project and journey.
